Tabacco Smeraldo was not born from a sophisticated concept. It’s my way of creating my ideal tobacco scent. Tobacco is not a new note in perfumery, but I needed to create my own interpretation of this note. So, I created a vision of tobacco that revolves around green tobacco leaves, not smoke. And despite the complexity of notes and chords, the idea is simple: a pure tobacco scent.

More than perfumes, I create intimate fragrances that tell stories.

Miguel Matos Perfumes is perhaps what they call an "Ultra-Niche" brand today. Small distribution, small batches, produced by the perfumer and with a very personal signature of the author.

I believe that this is where the future of artistic perfumery lies. If I had to describe my work, I would say that I start from historical or traditional structures, and then break or twist them to create deconstructed olfactory pieces. I have a passion for vintage French perfumery and Chypre is the style of perfumery that is closest to my heart, but in my portfolio you can find very different things. If at the beginning I tried to amaze the public with a very unusual perfumery, today I look for more subtleties and mysteries in the composition. One thing remained: the search for emotion, beauty and innovation.
