Praline is a Southern tradition, commonly made with sugar, corn syrup, milk, butter, and pecan halves. It is a dessert with a history as rich as its flavor. The origins of praline could date back to the early seventeenth century. The praline is believed to have been created by chef Clement Lassagne, who worked for the French diplomat César duc de Choiseul, Count du Plessis Praslin. However, the Swiss were the pioneers of the "chocolate revolution".
