Every year in July in Catania there is a historic festival, flowers were dropped from the balconies as the procession passed. At the end of the evening the fireworks exploded.
After the party, in bed, in my dreams as a child, the flowers turned into flames and the pungent smell of the fireworks was sublimed in the scent of cut flowers kept in the shade.
