Drunken Jade is a tribute to Ji Kang, an ancient Chinese Taoist philosopher, talented musician and rebel who lived his life true to himself. This perfume combines animalic and vinous notes to capture its legendary charm in a moment of intoxication: “when he’s drunk, he moves like a mountain of jade”.
He was also renowned as one of China’s greatest musicians and a rebellious figure who refused the empire’s invitation to join the ruling class because of its disagreement with its philosophy and legitimacy. He met his death at the hands of the empire, but remained unwavering in his faith and his pursuit of Taoism: to be honest with oneself, not to give in to power, and to live a “natural” life.
Drunken Jade evokes his defiance of social norms and the wisdom of Taoism, telling a story of freedom, authenticity, and acceptance of one’s true self and free soul.

Heart notes: Labdanum, Styrax, Thyme;
Base notes: Cedarwood, guaiac wood.
