This imposing scent is one of the most powerful in the Boadicea the Victorious portfolio.<\/span><\/span> A dominant note of cistus gum or labdanum, as it is more often called, reigns supreme and pungent in Elaborate, creating an oily shimmer that runs through the complex and tenacious scent.<\/span><\/span> Essentially a leathery green moss, it is the aromatic equivalent of throwing a malachite stone into a black lake at night.<\/span><\/span> Intriguingly, Elaborate has no top notes, diving directly into a swirl of animal mosses and oud, enhanced by terpene pine needles.<\/span><\/span> One of the most unusual aspects of Elaborate is the way it intensifies on the skin, dramatically invading the senses with a ritualistic sensuality.<\/span><\/span> As if that rippling lake suddenly caught fire in the night, a hiss of fragrant flames that illuminates the darkness.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

There is a vastness to Elaborate, a musky and intense scent that radiates an intense bold charge.<\/span><\/span> Its metallic tremors growl in and out of a shady, mossy pine forest, animal tracks and hints of smoky weather alternate.<\/span><\/span> Much of the heavy lifting is done by the gummy cistus, the resinous, sticky cistus gives off highly volatile and flammable essential oils, which sometimes spontaneously ignite with heat.<\/span><\/span> It is a tenacious material in perfumes, which creates leather effects with a robust texture.<\/span><\/span> In addition, it is a vital ingredient in amber accords, and is a striking presence in Elaborate.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Oud is a powerful presence as in many of the addictive Boadicea perfumes, here tempered by the spectral saline touch of ambergris tincture.<\/span><\/span> In addition to imparting a unique olfactory profile, ambergris is also a superb fixative, prolonging the fading of fragrances, which it does with pungent wonder in Elaborate.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
