Legend tells of a traveler who was captured by a desert spirit. The latter made him a proposal: in exchange for his life and his freedom, the traveler would have to give him the whole of Arabia in the palm of his hand. That night the traveler, after having had a dream, created essences of bergamot, patchouli, labdanum and amber which he enclosed in his flask with a golden cap. He then placed the object carefully in a box and gave it to the spirit, who thus obtained what he asked for: the whole of Arabia in his palm.<\/p>\n
