Created by IFF in 1966, dihydromyrcenol is an olfactory molecule synthesized in the laboratory. Widely used in perfumery since 1975, dihydromyrcenol is an olfactory compound resulting from organic research. It has an aromatic, lime, floral, fruity note. The molecule, most used in men’s compositions, gives the creations a sensation of aromatic freshness with fruity accents. It can recall lime (a citrus fruit) and lavender. It is all at once clean, fresh, hard to describe and yet very quaint. It immediately brings a feeling of cleanliness, both floral and fruity. Leaves an impression of clean laundry and a smell similar to that of detergent. It would almost be enough to close your eyes for a moment to imagine a man who has just come out of the shower and is wearing a white shirt, impeccably ironed and still unbuttoned. With its recognized euphoric effect, dihydromyrcenol has given men’s fragrances a very modern sensation of freshness, both fruity and aromatic.
