Beyond the grandstand, beyond the keyboards, there is a space that rarely enters the gaze: the engine room. The light is raw and functional; the surfaces bear the signs of use, the air has a constant heat. The smell of this environment speaks of metal, of heated dust, of oil that flows slowly in the gears and keeps the bellows, the “lungs” of the organ, in tension.<\/p>\n
Before the majesty of sound, before the solemnity that fills the vaults, there is a complex system of levers, turbines, air ducts that generate pressure and transform energy into sound. Musical ecstasy originates from this complex machine.<\/p>\n
When the organ resounds in the church, the sound appears pure and transcendent while here, among the engines, the genesis of that purity is understood. The machines work continuously, producing a low and constant hum that forms the silent basis of harmony. The music that ascends towards the vaults finds its root in this physicality, in this forced breath that crosses metals and woods.<\/p>\n
